Born in Edmonton but raised in the Parkland area, Justin split time between Spruce Grove and Stony Plain.
Through grade school, he embraced countless opportunities to be involved in the local community and was afforded many rich experiences by the people and businesses in the area. As a youth, he was an active member of his community youth council and had the privilege to work alongside MLA Doug Horner as a youth delegate to the Province of Alberta.
After high school and before settling into teaching, Justin spent several years working in transitional housing programs for at-risk youth. During this time, he volunteered with the Parkland Children's Christmas Program, a committee he was privileged to chair for many years and was involved in humanitarian work in Central America.
